encore: thanks matthew support from the twilight sad
from matthew: i was extremely disappointed by the sound at metropolis in montreal last night. it was no fault of the band or sound guy, just a bad room. this was their first time playing this room, and it's about twice the size of the club they had played the past four times in this city. from our first position about 1/3 the way back on the floor, the bass was overwhelming everything and there was zero mid-range making the guitars vanish during the loud parts. we ended up moving four times before finding the best case scenario which was right next to the sound board. i've seen them 6 times, and never have there been these kinds of sound issues. the band played great, however, and seemed to be enjoying themselves, even sharing a laugh when barry's sequencer briefly cut out during the end section of 2 rights. the last half of the show was redeemed by the song selection, which included small children, space expert, mfs, herod, and 2 rights. http://paw-00.blogspot.com/2009/05/mogwai-metropolis.html
