Mogwai provided the music for Deep Time, the opening event at the 2016 Edinburgh International Festival.

"This Sunday (7 August) sees the official launch of Edinburgh International Festival take place, and we are proud that we will also be part of the opening event. The Standard Life Opening Event: Deep Time will transport attendees through 350 million years of Edinburgh's history. And it'll show them Edinburgh's iconic Castle as they've never seen it before. This epic, outdoor, public artwork event will feature digital animation across Edinburgh Castle, with our music providing the soundtrack."

Rano Pano, Rano Pano (Tim Hecker Remix), Remurdered, Deesh and I Know You Are But What Am I are listed as having been used in the production. Other music and sound effects link these pieces. It's not known if the other music was provided by Mogwai.
