that reminds me of the gig mogwai played supporting pavement in providence where this 40 something hispanic guy from miami told me he had left his wife and family (who didn't know where he'd gone) the day before to come and see a rock and roll band for the first time. during mogwai he would lean over occasionally and cry that he could die now and be happy. then he told me not to drive home because i'd been drinking. i told him that i was unlikely to be making the 3000 mile journey back to glasgow that night. wish i could remember his name....
