no encore, i guess due to the festival sort of format. they played about as long as in montreal, maybe a bit longer, which was good. they were back to as loud as they were a few years ago. the venue was actually pretty cool, i was a little concerned since the previous acts listed on the place's site are ratt, brett michaels, shania twin (not a typo), and someone named ill nino. john was back on the shelf, but his replacement performed more than admirably in his place. hopefully he gets well soon, he must be in rough shape. this time they played all three of 'xmas steps', 'fear satan', and 'helicon 1', but cut out 'you don't know jesus' and 'ratts' for the first time in recent memory. possibly the best time i've seen them. did i mention it was loud?
