the guys put on an excellent show. a whole lot better than part chimp. my roomie went with me and was expecting all songs to sound similar to 'kids will be skeletons' i.e. mellow, relaxing, etc., but the guys soon proved him and anybody else with similar expectations wrong by busting into an ear-splitting 'fear satan'. truly breathtaking. even 'i know you are but what am i?' didn't remain mellow for long with martin's pounding drums and dominic's gut-vibrating bass.

i was very impressed with 'my father, my king', and i felt so lucky to be able to hear this necessity. stuart and john ripped up their guitars at the end of encore for about 10 minutes with feedback being thrown from wall to wall - several people had to cover their ears lest their eardrums begin bleeding. i decided that if my eardrums bled, then it was probably worth it in the end.
