It was a bit of a strange show as it was set in an old train depot(which is now a shopping mall/conference centre) just outside the city centre, very big and very, very corporate. There was a line of about 20 'lotto' cars at the entrance, table-tennis tent (with beer sponsor), Smirnoff bar, Cola bar and you had to leave a 1.25euro deposit for the plastic beer cup (not including beer). The rest of the bands were either pretty dire (Tom Smith) or totally out of place in such a shed (Agnes Obel) but that all fell away when Mogwai took to the stage. They are such a well oiled machine these days that even a one-off gig is note perfect (although playing Werewolf after Helicon didn't really work). The sound was awesome, the setlist pretty good, the gig too short and the venue too big.
