i saw them in chester... they rocked like mothers :) i'd only heard i bit of their stuff before (like ex-cowboy on the free nme cd, xmas steps and i'd seen them on the nme tv thing) and i thought that they were really cool and so i was looking forward to seeing them. they were unbelievable, i was right near the front and i couldn't believe how good they were and so i rushed out the next weekend and bought everything i could find buy them.

i think i was in the minority that enjoyed it, the crowd was mostly populated by shirt boys and as mogwai themselves have said "they were just sheep, the kind of bastards that buy 'shine' compilations, who hate anything they've not encountered before." i was actually ashamed to be a manics fan when i heard that some mogwai fans had been beaten up for asking people to be quiet.
