    from imran kassim:

battle stations everyone, brace yourselves for bucketloads of distortion, feedback, delay, guest vocals by stephen hawking and the sweet sounds of the finest scotch pieces ever to grace the dignified interiors of the hong kong international exhibition centre. to say that it was a loud gig would be incredibly stupid. brutal, more like. imagine slayer going on a sheep-shagging trip to aberdeen, that kind of “brutal”. the gentle opening notes of 'the precipice' shaping up into a proper beast by the end of it; 'i love you i'm gonna blow up your school' delivering the satisfying eardrum crunching finale after a build up involving a wee bass solo by dominic at the start; the deadly combo of 'like herod' and 'batcat' the equivalent of giving a hard smack to the leopard face in tekken; my ears are happily sloshed!

    from http://hkham.wordpress.com/:

they were brilliant. they might look like five average dudes, but the glaswegians are superstars when it comes to creating post-rock soundscapes. their lightness of touch and dynamic interplay between the instruments was formidable.

i was also really happy with the mogwai crowd: the show was a sell-out, with 700 people, who were noisy in their appreciation. not bad for hong kong on a sunday night.

    from 'anonymous':

great show indeed - they sounded terrific.
