cellist on 'hunted by a freak, 'golden porsche', 'two rights' and 'my father my king'.

    from joe:

i went to see mogwai for the first time last night and in all fairness they blew me away. they were so intense, so loud , and one point i could feel the bass making my throat vibrate, which was nice of them! they were excellent though and will definitely be going to see them again. thank you mogwai.

    from james gouldbourne:

a band in their pomp... leeds and liverpool were fucking beautiful... epiphanies rained down as walls of angels diffused into the air... glad to see 'rock action' was all but forgotten... to open with 'helicon 1' was as beautiful a statement as the staggering 'jewish hymn' fuckout after reading... this surely is the greatest time...

if only those twats who decide to talk through songs could be introduced to xylon gas... you fucking cunts.. if you are going to talk whist a band is pouring their fucking hearts out then you are a fucking idiot who will never achieve anything, you fuckwits... if i have to tell one more person to fucking shut up i am going to smash my bottle on the floor and stick it into their fucking face...

    roll on glastonbury...

    from tan coul:

utter, sheer bliss - i'd seen the mogs in liverpool back in '01, and had never experienced anything so loud, but to have that same experience in a venue as compact as the barfly - i never thought i would use the words "sonic cathedral" in seriousness, but if the cap fits... i was centre front (2nd row) and have to say that unlike james i heard no-one talking through the songs - the first concert i've ever been to where i can say that! 'ratts' was the standout track for me (well apart from 'mfmk' of course) but it was all great, despite the ongoing guitar problems...
