mogwai curated the first day of the atp 'director's cut' festival. supporting line-up included envy, part chimp, converge, trans am, isis, turbonegro, todd, sonic boom, acid mothers temple, growing, james orr complex, papa m, cat power, cex, kid606 and john peel (dj).

my 15th time seeing mogwai live and they were on fine form. it's been over 4 years since i last heard them play 'superheroes of bmx' or 'summer' so it was great to have them included in the set. nice new intro to '...flies', a great closer with 'ratts...' and all round a tightly played and impressive display from the best live band playing today. other highlights of the weekend for me included great sets from part chimp, kid 606 and lightning bolt (particularly enjoyed their unexpected set on sunday morning in front of their chalet)!
