    from jeanphi:

i was there yesterday and i can confirm you that batcat was not played ! strange but true...

ah, yes, something unusual occured... during the intro of christmas steps (i guess), two or three boys shouted "celtic glasgow" and stuff like that (they did it from the beginning of the show). then, stuart stopped playing and, rather angry, told to the boys "can you stop this? it's fucking annoying!" and he was applaused by the audience.

good show... well played, good setlist (even if the end of the main set was a bit "calm").

    from markus:

i was pleasently surprised that they played the "club" (capacity 1.200) and not the overdimensioned main hall (6.500). the acoustics of the main hall are generally quite underwhelming while the sound at the club was extremely good on monday. the sound engineer obviously did a great job.

as for the crowd: in general luxembourgish audiences are rather laid-back and polite which is actually a good thing for "epic" bands like mogwai. the big "issue" is that - because of luxembourg's central location - lots of people from germany, france and belgium are attending the shows. and while my compatriots tend to have one over the eight, the french love shouting. there were one or two morons who were shouting "celtic" or "celtic glasgoooooow" all the time. well, that means until they were dressed down by stuart.

other than this, the show was among the best ones i've been to so far. loved the new songs, especially "i love you, i'm going to blow up your school". john played his part quite different from the album version though. it was also nice to listen to stanley kubrick and secret pint again. batcat was on the setlist but wasn't played. (martin and barry went off. then barry came back and spoke a few words to dominic. finally, the rest of the band went off stage.)
