from sam:
just saw mogwai tonight...f***ing loud..my god, they did a bunch of oldies
too! including "fear satan" and "ithica" in detroit..i was shocked..and very
happy..i also got the 10" with bardo pond and mogwai that's only being sold
on tour. i haven't listened to it yet but apparently there are two mogwai tracks that are brand
new...joy...i also got most of mogwai and all of bardo pond to sign it...talked to john from
mogwai for over
20 minutes..he says they are going to be recording a few tracks here soon
after the tour and going to do an even more "proper" version of "our father,
our king"...so that's something to look forward to...other highlights..bardo
pond heckling stuart as his bass went out of tune on helicon 1...dominic
being offered a double shot of jager after the show to which he immediately
replied "aye! fookin' yager man!" ...also spending a large portion of time
with bardo pond at a gas station after the show where we kinda ran into them
again...and scaring the lady running the store (i think everyone was a little
intoxicated)...a very great night overall!
oh, i also forgot something else that happened last night...after a song last night..some lady yelled out "don't you
cry!"....stuart was fixing some pedals and looked up and asked the 4 or 5 people in front of him in the front row "what?" and
i replied "she asked you to play guns 'n' roses" stuart stood up and gave a nasty "uhhh no" look...then moved
to the mic and said "we're not here to do guns 'n' roses songs tonight" to which he got a laugh..then added "besides, we're
not that good anyway". after the next song...before he started playing 'cody' (i think), he quickly played a measure of "sweet
child of mine" clean on his guitar..i don't think anyone really got it.
